Montreal Auto Show: Ford Shelby Cobra Concept

By ,

The Shelby Cobra Concept is a stunning modern rendition of Shelby's original creation. This particular concept is greatly inspired by the renowned 427. The car draws heavily on the GT super-coupe but dimensions are unique to the Cobra. Powering the roadster is a 390 cubic inch (6.4L) V10 engine that produces 605 hp and 501 lb/ft of torque. The concept weights a mere 3 000 lbs, has no roof, no windows and no radio. Considering the power-to-weight ratio, 0 to 60 mph times would be well under 4 seconds. The interior is spartan and tasteful and fitted with Sparco racing seats. Exterior styling cues that mimic the original Shelby are the front grille opening, the hood scoop, vertical bumper and the stacked head and taillights.
