Mosport to stage six major race meetings in 2011

The Mosport International Raceway is one of the only tracks of the region to welcome international racing series besides Montreal’s Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve and Trois-Rivières’ streets during the GP3R.

The road circuit will organise six major events in 2011 featuring the American Le Mans Series, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the Superbike Canada Championship.

The season will begin on May 20-22 with the Victoria Day event featuring the Trans-Am and World Challenge series, notably.

The Canadian Touring series, CCTCC, will also be of the event. On May 28, the NASCAR Canadian Tire series will perform its first of two races, this time on the short oval.

In June, Mosport will hold the Vintage Festival with the “Cars of Italy” and the “Amazing Porsches” on June 17-29.

Then on June 24-26, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will return for its second event, this time on the gruelling road course.

The Mosport Grand Prix will be held on July 21-24 next year with the performances of the ALMS cars and drivers.

The finale of the Canadian Superbike Championship will be staged the previous weekend, July 19-21.
