New MotoMaster Winter Edge Tire Designed for Canadian Winters The product of intensive testing carried out in Quebec

By ,

Canadian Tire has for the first time added a winter tire for passenger cars to its range of MotoMaster products. The all-new MotoMaster Winter Edge integrates state-of-the-art technologies and was conceived specifically for Quebec and Canadian winter conditions.

“Quebec winters are among the roughest in the country. For us it was an excellent opportunity to apply our MotoMaster expertise regarding durability, performance and safety to one of the most important elements of winter driving: the tires.”

- Bernard Villemaire, Regional Vice-President for Quebec, Canadian Tire

Over a period of two years, Canadian Tire invited 17 drivers from across the country to the Mécaglisse circuit in Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci, in the Laurentians north of Montreal, Quebec, to have them test numerous different tire prototypes and measure braking, acceleration, handling and rapid lane changes.

The feedback it received led the company to equip the MotoMaster Winter Edge with innovative technologies developed by Cooper Tires, including multi-angle sipes that improve handling when turning on ice-covered roads, SnowGroove technology that increases grip on snow, and saw-tooth edges on the centre rib to improve stability and quicken steering response.

Consumers can get the MotoMaster Winter Edge now at Canadian Tire stores, starting at $119.99.
