NASA unveils battery-powered autonomous vehicle

Through an alliance with Nissan that began last January, it's now NASA's turn to introduce an autonomous “Modular Robotic Vehicle,” as reported by Slash Gear .

Styling and aerodynamics are nowhere to be found, here: The concept unveiled by NASA looks like a giant golf kart (7'x5') and weighs 2,000 lbs. It has the potential to reach speeds of 65 km/h, but for safety reasons developers limited its current top speed to 25 km/h.

Not only are the four wheels driving this machine, but they also swivel 180 degrees to allow otherwise impossible manoeuvres.
