NASCAR: Andrew Ranger is back in Mosport

By ,

Two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire champion Andrew Ranger will be back at the Mosport International Raceway this week-end in an event that he thoroughly dominated last year.

Ranger established a new track record in qualifying and won the race by nearly seven seconds as he will be making his first NCATS start of the 2010 season; having spent most of his time this season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

But this year, JR Fitzpatrick could be the one that will be able to stop Ranger as the two drivers share an innate talent for handling a race car through the left and right turns of a road course.

Another challenger could be defending NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion Jason Bowles who will be driving the No. 11 Triad Racing Technologies Dodge.

Despite having limited knowledge of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Bowles is not completely unfamiliar with the track at Mosport having raced in Formula Ford some years ago.

The Vortex Brake Pads 200, the first of five road-course races on the 2010 slate of events will be run on Sunday June 13th.
