NASCAR drivers are back in action this weekend following last week's All-Star event at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. And this time, there are also back at the same 1.5-mile track. The Sprint Cup teams will be running the Coca Cola 600, NASCAR's longest race, on Sunday evening starting at 5 pm. Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) will be among the 48 drivers trying to qualify for the race. The race will be televised live on Fox, TSN and RDS (French).Nationwide racers will be in action on Saturday evening at the same track for the Carquest Auto Parts 300. Unfortunately, Canadian D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81) won't be part of it since he will be racing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series at Cayuga, Ontario. Brad Baker will replace him. As for Craftsman Truck series drivers, they will be in action at the half-mile Mansfield, Ohio short track. No Canadian driver is listed though Scotty Crocket (Chevy No 12) will attempt to qualify driving a DGM Racing Chevy truck belonging to Michelle Gosselin, Quebec-born Mario Gosselin's wife. The race can be seen on SPEED at 12:30, Saturday afternoon.
