On Saturday September 10, NASCAR Sprint Cup series will race at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond Virginia, USA.

This weekend's race will be the last before the Sprint Cup Chase begins at Chicago so the drivers will hold nothing back.

With the drivers on the brakes 28% of the lap, Richmond is the third most difficult braking track behind Watkins Glen and Martinsville.

The latest Brembo circuit animation illustrates the hardest braking point of the ¾ mile D-shaped oval.

Turn 1 is especially demanding as the drivers brake for 3.5 seconds, slowing from 154 mph (248 kph) to 92 mph (148 kph) resulting in a force of 0.8 G and a brake temperature of 1362° F. (739° C).
