His championship rival JR Fitzpatrick was lucky enough to finish second after a 14th place starting position. He did not manage to pass Kennington on the last restart after everyone’s pit stop.

This second place finish means Fitzpatrick is once again falling back to second position in the standing, 14 points behind the new leader Kennington.

Don Thomson Jr. completed the podium with Scott Steckly -- also trailing Fitzpatrick alongside Thompson for second place in the standing -- and John Gaunt trailing him.

Jason Hathaway, Kerry Micks, Mark Dilley, Anthony Simone and Nathan Weenk completed the top 10.

Kennington leads the point standings after 7 races with a total of 1178 points, and is followed by Fitzpatrick (1164), Steckly (1095) and Thomson Jr (1049).

The next outing will be in Trois-Rivières’ street next weekend in Quebec for the well-known Grand Prix.
