DJ Kennington won the second race of the season, the Delaware 200, in a heated NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race Saturday night at Delaware Speedway in front of a near-capacity crowd. While the weather cooled, the temperature on the track rose. Kennington battled Don Thomson Jr. on the first two attempts to end the race under green.In the end Kennington was able to beat Ron Beauchamp Jr. to the finish line by a mere .516 seconds. It was Kennington's first win in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series since Sept. 8, 2007 at Barrie (Ont.) Speedway. Defending series champion Scott Steckly finished third followed by Kerry Micks and Anthony Simone in fourth and fifth, respectively. Joey McColm, Dave Whitlock, Andrew Ranger, Nik Lapcevich and Thomson rounded out the top 10. In the championship point standings, Beauchamp now holds a nine-point edge on Whitlock.
