Québec-born Patrick Carpentier will once again drive the NASCAR Nationwide No 9 Dodge Charger this weekend at the world famous Talladega Super Speedway. Patrick finished fifth last weekend in Mexico on a road race circuit. Talladega is a 2.6-mile superspeedway. Ontario's D. J. Kennington will be part of the race. Pattrick is also scheduled to drive the NASCAR Sprint Cup race the next day, a race where he will have to qualify. Some 46 cars are registered for the race including the No 84 Camry driven by A.J. Allemdinger. Jon Wood will make his 2008 debuts behind the wheel of the No 21 Ford. NASCAR Craftsman Truck drivers will be at the Kansas Speedway and Mario Gosselin (Chevy No 12) originally from Quebec will try to qualify for the Saturday event.
