NASCAR: Ron Hornaday takes first season win at the Lowe's

By ,

Ron Hornaday (Chevy No 33) won the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 NASCAR Camping World truck race Friday evening at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, his first win of the season. Kyle Busch (Tundra No 51) came in second after falling back the pack twice in the race. First after a pit miscue and second after being placed back to the end of the pack by NASCAR for "rough driving" against then race leader Colin Braun (Ford No 6) he sent spinning. Matt Crafton (Chevy No 88) ended up third, Ryan Newman (Chevy No 4) and Terry Cook (Tundra No 25) were fourth and fifth. Hornaday now has the championship lead over Mike Skinner (Tundra No 5) who was involved in a horrific crash early in the race. Canadian-born Mario Gosselin (Chevy No 12) finished 17th in that race. The Camping World drivers will be back in action on Friday evening May 29, at the Dover International Speedway.
