Last week, we reported that Lotus is set to introduce an all-new vehicle on the market. What used to be known as
Project Eagle will finally be called Evora. The company just released additional pictures to keep building hype around this 2+2 coupe. The
Evora uses a mid-mounted 3.5L V6 producing 280 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 252 lbs-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm through a 6-speed manual transmission. Both the engine and gearbox come from Toyota.
In typical Lotus fashion, the new Evora is based on a rigid yet ultra-lightweight aluminum chassis. The braking system consists of 350-mm ventilated discs with 4-piston callipers up front and 332-mm discs in the back. Putting the car in contact with the pavement are 225/40ZR18 front and 255/35ZR19 rear tires.According to Lotus, the Evora will appeal to performance-minded drivers, just like the
Elise and
Exige , while also satisfying those after comfort and luxury. Extra efforts were made during the development process to make the Evora pleasant in daily use. Drivers measuring up to 6 feet 7 inches can easily take place behind the wheel. As for cargo, the trunk is large enough to accommodate a golf bag.Inside, expect such premium features as a touch-screen navigation system, a rearview camera, leather seats (available in many different colors) and much more.
