2019 Subaru Forester
Not keen to let Toyota steal all the compact crossover spotlight in New York, Subaru brought along their all-new Forester to steal some of the RAV4’s thunder. There’s no more turbocharged motor, but the standard 182 hp 2.5L boxer engine now gets direct fuel injection and auto start/stop for a good mix of power and efficiency. Subaru is also debuting its segment-first facial-recognition safety tech that can actually remember a driver’s seat position, door mirror position and climate setting as well as sense driver fatigue – by reading his or her face.
