Generation number five hit the market in 2013, and that edition got some esthetic revisions for the 2016 model year. By this point in the life of the Altima, it had become such a cornerstone of the Nissan lineup that it cast serious shade over its larger sibling, the Maxima. While no one could claim it delivered a high level of excitement, this Altima did offer owners strong reliability overall, excellent on-road comfort and one of the best – if not the absolute best – fuel-consumption ratings in its class.
