Nissan Employees raise funds for charity

Nissan employees in the Montreal area proudly donated $6,000 to Sun Youth Organization (SYO) yesterday. SYO is a local charity group focused on being a source of warmth, guidance and support for a large number of families. It was started over 50 years ago by a group of youths from the St. Lawrence Blvd. area, as it was then called. The organization currently offers services including a food and clothing bank, recreation centre and seniors club. In addition to a cheque, Nissan's director of Marketing Communications, Wendy Durward, presented keys for a new Altima and Quest to the group's co founders.

"Sun Youth is an important resource to many families and individuals in the Montréal area" she said. "Nissan employees are proud of the communities in which we work and live, and we wanted to show our support to our neighbours and start the New Year in a positive way".The Quest minivan will be used by emergency teams who tend to disasters. It will allow them to deliver quick and immediate support to those affected. The Altima, conversely, will be used to support the Seniors Club's services.Talk about starting off the New Year right. photo: Nissan
