Press releaseSource: Nova Bus SAINT-EUSTACHE, QC, - Nova Bus is very proud to present a city bus that is ready to comply with the 2010 environmental standards and that can operate with new-generation green propulsion systems. The vehicle, from the Nova LFS product line, has been extensively reviewed and developed over the course of recent years and constitutes a major breakthrough for Nova Bus and its clients. In addition to the many improvements with regards to interior styling, passenger flow, rear design, maintainability, access to components, and durability, the bus has been especially designed to operate with the new clean diesel or hybrid propulsion systems that meet EPA 2010 emissions standards. Starting in early 2010, these ultra-low-emission drive systems will be part of all new vehicles manufactured by Nova Bus. The bus has been developed not only to improve and increase userbenefits, but also in anticipation of new 2010 regulations. The latter require nearly zero emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particles-constituting a 96% reduction compared to 1994. The bus will thus produce 20 times less nitrogen oxide emissions than a 1998 model. "We are all very proud to introduce to the market at this time a vehicle that is optimized with multiple advantages and that is ready to fully comply with the most demanding environmental standards," declared Gilles Dion, president and CEO of Nova Bus. Nova Bus will deliver nearly 700 such vehicles by the end of 2009 to its Canadian clients and almost 140 diesel-electric hybrid buses to Vancouver in anticipation of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
