PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA REPORTS SEPTEMBER SALES FOR CANADA

By ,

ATLANTA — Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States and Canada, today announced Canada retail sales for September totaled 42 cars, 48 percent fewer than for the same period last year. Overall North American sales are up 2 percent calendar year to date.

"Porsche Cars North America has had an excellent year through August," said Fred Schwab, PCNA President and CEO. "Considering the fact that the United States is now involved in a war on terrorism and considering the shock the American and Canadian people have felt due to the tragic acts of terror last month, a downturn in sales must be understandable.

"We are happy to report we have only seen limited order cancellations. We strongly believe that as we rise to the challenges ahead, we will see a return to more normal business activity."
