Nissan's Scratch Shield paint, developed in 2005 and already used on various Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, might just revolutionize the world of mobile phones as well. Prototypes are currently under testing and promise surprising protection for your newest iPhone.

Three major benefits highlight the Scratch Shield case, which leverages innovations from the auto industry: 1) it allows fine scratches to quickly mend themselves; 2) its gel-like surface is more scratch-resistant than conventional paint and provides a better grip; and 3) the case itself is made of ABS plastic to ensure a tighter fit and superior durability.

Scratch Shield can heal small scratches in less than 60 minutes. More serious damage may take up to a week's time to disappear.

Tests are still underway, but if demand proves strong enough, look for this magic case to go on sale later this year.
