Rally: Antoine L'Estage and Nathalie Richard in the All-American team

By ,

We announced yesterday that the Grand-Am champions had been nominated for the AARWBA, the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association, All-American Racing Team.

Today, we learned that a couple of Quebeckers, champions of the Triple Crown of North-American Rallies in 2010, had also been nominated in the team.

Antoine L’Estage and Nathalie Richard had an extraordinary season with victory in Canadian, American and North-American rally championships as well as a bronze medal in the X-Games, in July.

Dario Franchitti, Jimmie Johnson, Will Power and Kyle Busch are some of the drivers that were nominated in the past. The last Canadian to be selected was Ron Fellows, in 2004.

It is therefore a great honor for the rally champions who will receive their prize on January 9th, in Indianapolis.

The driver of the year award will also be given during the AARWBA ceremony. He or she will be selected out of all the nominees in the All-American Racing team. It is a 40th selection for the special team.
