According to British Autosport magazine, the new Volkswagen Polo R, which is set to compete in next year's FIA World Rally Championship could be run in Sardinia next October.

Volkswagen initially wanted to run its new Polo R as the No. 0 car in Italy, but the German car manufacturer failed to find an agreement with the FIA. Instead, the Polo R WRC will compete in the event, driven by Sébastien Ogier, but no official times will be taken.

“I don't know too much details about this," said Ogier. "But it was disappointing not run as the No. 0 car, so this could be a good solution. OK, we won't appear in the classficiation, but I'm sure somehow it will be possible to finally make the comparison from our car against the others.”
