In an interview given to journalist Colin Clark, Nasser Al-Attiyah revealed that he was in talks with M-Sport to run three Ford Fiestas sponsored by Qatar in next year's World Rally Championship.

Qatar, who backs Team Citroen Sport this year, will leave the French team next season, as Citroën will begin a new partnership with Abu Dhabi.

However, Qatar could stay in the World Rally Championship.

After Ford announced its withdrawal from the WRC at the end of this season, British motorsport company M-Sport -- which runs the two works Ford Fiestas this season -- could now be backed by Qatar starting in 2013.

Three M-Sport Ford Fiestas could be run next season under Qatar’s sponsorship, including a car for Al-Attiyah himself.
