The two battled it out fiercely, trading first place until Bakkerud passed Solberg for good on lap 3.

Timur Timerzyanov and Tanner Foust also battled hard until the two made contact; Foust ending up in the wall as a result.

Bakkerud won the race head of Solberg.

Crowd favourite, nine-time FIA World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb finished fourth in his semi-final, just four tenths of a second behind Timerzyanov and a place in the final.
