Lincoln Recalls Corsair, Nautilus Hybrids That Could Shift Suddenly into Neutral Just under 12,000 vehicles are impacted by the problem, though only 248 of them are in Canada.

Ford is issuing a safety recall for certain 2026–2027 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid and 2027 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid crossovers due to an internal transmission fault that can cause vehicles to unexpectedly shift into neutral while driving.

The safety campaign affects 11,623 hybrid units in the United States and 248 units in Canada, the latter identified under Transport Canada Recall No. 2026-509 (Ford manufacturer code 26S75).

The problem
According to documentation submitted to safety regulators, the defect originates inside the transmission’s park lock actuator system within the Integrated Park Module (IPM). During vehicle assembly, an anti-rust oil was applied that can migrate onto the printed circuit board inside the module.

Over time, this chemical interaction degrades the board’s protective conformal coating, inducing corrosion and causing a voltage drop across the rotary sensor. The powertrain control software interprets this signal drop as a sensor fault and commands the transmission to shift into neutral while in motion.

A sudden loss of drive power creates an immediate traffic hazard and elevates collision risks. Drivers will be alerted by an illuminated wrench light alongside a Service Vehicle Soon or Shifting System Error message in the instrument cluster display.

Ford confirmed it is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to the condition.

The solution
Authorized Ford and Lincoln dealerships will replace the Integrated Park Module with an updated unit free of charge.

Owner notification letters will start going out by mail on November 2, 2026, advising affected owners to schedule a service appointment. Interim notifications will inform owners of the hazard while replacement parts are distributed through dealer networks.
