Renault recycles!

Since 2002, when it introduced the Megane II, Renault has been putting on the market vehicles with "a second life". Indeed, no less than 95 percent of their mass can be recycled. The French manufacturer is really putting the environment at the core of its vehicle and mechanical part development. Not only does Renault involve its designers, but the company also asks its suppliers to reduce the negative effects of their parts and components on the environment, as long as these parts can be used.

The dashboard of the Modus is a prime example of this approach. It is made from the largest amount of recycled plastic (4 kilos; 50 percent of its weight) for a single auto part. Jointly developed by Renault and Visteon, this dashboard uses materials from the same chemical family, which makes the recycling easier. This new and sophisticated method is in line with the September 18, 2000 European Directive by which Renault abides thanks to the recycled and recyclable components of its vehicles.
