Saab: new 9-7X Aero SUV captures the thrill of flight with 390 horsepower

Saab is about to enter the realm of performance luxury SUV's with their new 9-7X Aero model. The GM-owned Scandinavian nameplate brings to market unique style and distinctive characteristics to set it apart from the rest. Saab says that buyers will be impressed with the machine's sophistication, premium design features and technology.
And, if you've got traces of blood in your adrenaline stream, you'll be impressed with what's under the hood. It's a six-litre small-block LS2 V8 engine delivering 390 horsepower and 395 lb.- ft. of torque. That's good for sub six-second 0-60 runs- and with a set of 20 inch wheels and tires installed, this particular 9-7X model stays true to the performance promise made by its Aero badge. It also benefits from a cold-air intake and Saab-specific intake manifold, and has a maximum towing capacity of 6,600 lbs.Power is delivered through an always-on 4x4 system using a Torsen centre differential and limited slip rear differential. A six-speed automatic comes standard.Special to the Aero model is a new paint color called Carbon Flash Metallic, its silky hues accentuating the clean lines of the SUV."The 9-7X Aero is one great SUV to pilot. We are excited to offer enthusiastic drivers an increased level of performance with the Aero, a symbol of Saab performance, in the midsize SUV segment" said one Saab representative.The Aero designated 9-7X goes on sale this fall with a starting price of $45,690 USD. No word yet on its availability in Canada.
