Ford Motor Company announced this morning the appointment of Stephen Odell as president and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.Odell will take up the reins of the company on October 1, replacing Fredrik Arp, who is stepping down after three years as president of
Volvo .Stephen Odell has worked for Ford Motor Company since his graduation in 1980. He recently acted as chief operating officer of Ford Europe. He has also worked for
Mazda and
Jaguar , two Ford Motor subsidiaries. Odell, 53, is married and has two children. The London native will be working out of Volvo's head office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
