Subaru announces pricing on Impreza, sticker axed by $2,000 on base model

Subaru's Impreza has undergone some changes for the 2008 model year. Long sought after as a safe and adventurous all-wheel drive with a taste for bad weather, the Impreza now features a new look, more room, more features, and more competitive pricing.
Notable changes include a new rear suspension which drops last year's strut-type configuration in place of a new double-wishbone setup which benefits ride quality and cargo space. Side curtain airbags are now standard across the lineup, while additional stability is made possible by Vehicle Dynamics Control which is standard on the 2.5i Sport package and WRX. These features are, of course, in addition to the same weather-busting symmetrical AWD system fitted to each of Subaru's machines. The third-generation vehicle is available as a four-door sedan or a new five-door wagon. In any trim--Base, Sport or WRX Turbo, each model comes with a five-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift mode.Pricing for manual-equipped models is listed below.
