Tesla’s massive battery plant in Reno, Nevada, also known as “Gigafactory” , will officially open on July 29th. And according to Green Car Reports , there will be a grand opening event attended by owners who won tickets by participating in the company’s most recent referral program.
While no press release came from Tesla itself, some of those lucky owners who were invited were quick to spread the word on social media . The short letter they received notes the July 29th date of the grand opening and includes some travel information.
Built in collaboration with Panasonic, Tesla’s Gigafactory represents a $5 billion USD investment and will bring nearly 20 times more to the state of Nevada over the next 20 years.
