On Wednesday morning, February 17th, a Cessna 310 carrying three employees, crashed in a residential neighborhood in East Palo Alto, California, about a mile northeast of the airport.
This is indeed very sad news especially for such a close-knit company such as Tesla. Said Elon Musk, company CEO: “We lost 3 employees in a plane crash today. We're a small company and this is a tragic day. Our thoughts go out to their families.”
The names or exact positions (although some say that at least one of them was a high-ranking official) have not been released out of respect however the plane was registered to Doug Bourn, a senior electric engineer.
According to those in the know, the plane was bound for Hawthorne, a Los Angeles suburb, where Tesla currently has a design studio.Heavy fog seems to be the culprit in this very unfortunate event. No one on the ground was injured following the crash.
Given that Tesla has wind in their sails, let's hope that this does not affect the business in the long run. We do understand that losing friends is always a difficult tragedy to overcome.
