Watch out, Tesla Model X! Soon enough, you will have competition in the form of a new, all-electric Jaguar SUV based on the acclaimed F-PACE .
Likely to be called E-PACE when sales begin in 2018, it will make its first appearance at next week’s Los Angeles Auto Show in near-production shape.
Early reports mention a range of about 400 kilometres with a single charge, whereas the Tesla Model X offers up to 465 kilometres of zero-emission driving. Hopefully, Jaguar will not suffer from the same reliability issues .
In addition to the Model X, this new electric Jaguar SUV will compete against rivals based on the Audi e-tron quattro and Mercedes-Benz EQC concepts, the latter seen at the Paris Auto Show earlier this fall.
The British automaker knows a thing or two about electric drivetrains. In fact, it recently joined the FIA Formula E Championship.
