Before the end of this year, Mini will reintroduce a "shooting-brake" style vehicle in Europe called the Clubman. At the moment, no official dates have been revealed for Canada however BMW says that we will be getting it sometime in 2008.
Mini is the World's most successful small car premium brand and it continues to strive to boost its appeal. The Clubman Concept was revealed at the 2005 Frankfurt Auto Show and the production model will embody the styling and character of the Mini brand as well as use many design cues from the Concept.Shooting brake, for those that are not familiar with the term, is used to describe a premium two-door body in a hatchback configuration with a purpose-built interior for flexibility and comfort. It can accommodate 4 passengers due to the existence of a useable 2nd row of seats granted by the extended wheelbase. It is expected that the Clubman will be powered by the same two 1.6L 4-cylinder engines as the regular Mini. Base models will have 120 hp and the "S" will get 175 hp thanks to forced induction.
