The next Dodge Viper targets a wider clientele

By ,

If you’ve already had the chance to drive a Dodge Viper or simply ride along as a passenger, you’ll agree that the world “brute” probably sums it up best, what with the maniacally potent engine and the almost total lack of electronic assistance that leaves no room for mistakes.

Head of design Ralph Gilles is very much aware of this, and he’s made sure to change this particular personality trait when the car will be revived in a few months time. To attract a wider range of buyers, Gilles decided to poll owners of premium brand vehicles to find out what they love (or hate) about their cars and the Viper.

Though we know about as much about the new iteration of the Viper as the secret of the Caramilk bar, several dealers reportedly got a glimpse of a preliminary version of the car at a meeting last year. According to some attendees, it looked like an “Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione with a Viper face.”

If that’s the case, buyers will soon get the chance to purchase a veritable war machine combining typical European styling cues and American muscle, built to suit the tastes of its target market. Dodge is setting the bar very high indeed.
