It would appear as though Honda is hard at work developing a follow-up to the beloved S2000. Just for the hell of it, we'll write S2000 one more time. OK, last one: S2000.
Why are we so S2000-obsessed? Simple: It was one, if not the greatest Honda from the past decade and we are very happy to see that something like it may return.
Why is the S2000 possibly one of the greatest? Because it was s000 right in s000 many ways including, but not limited to, its RWD drivetrain. And so, this is the only part of this morsel of news that “bothers” us.
The new Roadster will be based on the CR-Z which we all know is front-driven. Thankfully though, the IMA hybrid system will be replaced by a next-gen VTEC engine and with it will come with automatic stop-start and a new dual-clutch transmission lifted from the VFR1200F motorcycle.
Honda: Please heed our plea, make it RWD!
The car is expected sometime in 2013.
