Hot on the heels of the Dodge Charger Pursuit, Chrysler strikes back with the all-new Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 Special Service. Designed for law enforcement and other emergency personnel, it will be available through the automaker's fleet sales starting this month.

Riding on 17'' steel wheels wrapped by 265/70R17 tires, the Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 Special Service can tow up to 10,000 lbs and boasts a maximum payload of 1,455 lbs -- all this thanks to a 5.7L HEMI V8 that cranks out 390 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission comes standard.

Helping the powertrain withstand heavy abuse are 100,000-mile spark plugs and a larger oil cooler.

Of course, several modifications were made to make the truck compatible with a wide variety of combat and emergency systems. For instance, a 220-amp alternator allows the Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 Special Service to power light bars, sirens, computers and radars without emptying the battery prematurely.
