The Ioniq 5 continues to be a benchmark for the industry, blending retro-futuristic styling with one of the best charging architectures on the market. For 2026, Hyundai refreshed the model with a larger 84.0-kWh battery and – hallelujah - the inclusion of a rear wiper, which Canadian motorists have been clamouring for for years.

The 2026 Ioniq 5 is also the first to feature the North American Charging System (NACS) port natively, allowing owners to use Tesla Superchargers without an adapter. With its 800V architecture, it remains one of the few non-luxury vehicles capable – in ideal conditions - of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Range is estimated at up to 488 km for RWD models.
