1. Ford Explorer
It would have been difficult to justify ending this ranking with any other model but the Ford Explorer, a formidable player in the category. Reinvented into a genuine luxury SUV by Ford in 2011, the Explorer comes in several configurations that alter the level of equipment as well as the mechanics. That 2011 date does mean that the Explorer is starting to show a few wrinkles, but happily for Ford the models still sells extremely well. Keep an eye out as a new Ford Explorer is headed our way in 2019 as a 2020 model.
