Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
This is the most affordable plug-in hybrid SUV on the market at present. Though at $45,000 and change, this most expensive of the Outlander variants is miles above the base model equipped with a 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The arrival of this version is good news for the small Japanese automaker, which has needed some refreshing since the demise of the Lancer sedan. It’s a pity that Mitsubishi is serving a form of leftovers to the Canadian market, since other markets have already gotten access to a revised configuration that includes a 2.4L 4-cylinder (up from 2.0L).
