Subaru Crosstrek
This is certainly one of the best sellers in this category, especially in Subaru-loving Canada. And yet it's essentially a 5-door Impreza sitting higher off the ground. It’s a trick the automaker pulled off successfully before, when it took the Legacy wagon in the mid-1990s and made it into the Outback.
Now, the addition of a souped-up powertrain in 2021 has contributed to the continued appeal of the small SUV, which is fun to drive and can also acquit itself quite well in difficult road conditions away from the asphalt.
