5- Dodge Durango/Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Dodge Durango is the largest SUV in FCA’s stable. The Fiat Chrysler Automobiles product can welcome up to seven occupants. Available with on-demand four-wheel drive and equipped with an 8-speed transmission, this utility model comes with a modest 3.6L V6 that can nonetheless haul up to 6,200 lbs. The available 5.7L HEMI V8 pushes that maximum up to 7,200 lbs, and FCA recently added a more intimidating 6.4L HEMI V8. This last delivers 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque and brings towing capacity up to 8,700 lbs! Notwithstanding the addition of some new finishes, the Durango looks the same now as it has for years. It shares a large part of its platform (self-supporting, thus no rigid chassis) with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, rumoured to be coming in a 7-passenger version. The current Grand Cherokee has a towing capacity of up to 7,400 lbs when fitted with the HEMI V8, but can only hold five occupants.
