The biggest SUV in the Honda stable competes in a category that grows more crowded by the month. While the 9-speed automatic transmission found in the Touring edition may frighten some consumers, the Pilot nonetheless manages the trick of being super comfortable without guzzling gas unduly. It manages this thanks to the system that deactivates some of the V6’s cylinders when not needed during highway driving.
