Even though Volkswagen has made much noise about being committed to electrifying its lineup in the medium and long terms, it still needs to sell a lot of gas-engine vehicles right now and for the foreseeable future. Enter the eighth generation of the Golf, the brand’s top selling model in history. The Golf VIII will reportedly be stiffer, sportier, bigger and more powerful - all while being stingier on gas. A Golf GTI is a sure thing, but the addition of a SportWagen is much less assured if rumours going around the Web are to be believed.
