Manta Ray
The Corvette Manta Ray we see here is an extrapolation of another design study, the Mako Shark. The Manta Ray, based on a third-generation C3 Corvette) is the work of another legendary head designer at General Motors, Bill Mitchell. This car is occasionally displayed at the Corvette National Museum in Bowling Green.
Chevy Suburban
The Chevrolet Suburban was created initially in 1935 as a station wagon with an all-metal chassis. Thi 8-passenger vehicle was based on a Chevy pickup chassis - the first of its kind with this configuration. The front end of the pickup was quickly redesigned in 1936, however, and it's this truck that GM chose to illustrate its evolution.
