Geneva 2016: Toyota C-HR unveiled in production form

By ,

The world premiere of the all-new Toyota C-HR crossover in production form took place this week at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, just a day after the concept made its Canadian debut in Quebec City.

Similar to its predecessors from Paris (2014) and Frankfurt (2015), the now production-ready Toyota C-HR is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture. It’s the first vehicle in its class to offer a hybrid system (consisting of an electric motor and a 1.8L engine rated at 122 horsepower).

Two other engines will be available globally including a 116-horsepower 1.2L turbo (with 6-speed manual and CVT transmissions) and a 2.0L unit (with CVT). CVT-equipped models will offer both FWD and AWD.

After entering production in Sakarya, Turkey, the Toyota C-HR will go on sale in North America next year.
