As if five Snowhunter concepts on their own wasn’t enough, Toyota will also showcase at SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas a decidedly sportier vision of one of its vehicles: the Crown Signia GT-S Performance Concept.
Developed by the Toyota Motorsports Garage, the custom prototype reimagines the Japanese automaker's hybrid crossover as an aggressive, low-slung performance estate.
Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Performance Concept – What’s different?
The centrepiece of the transformation is a custom set of MCS coilovers that lowers the ride height by nearly 127 mm (5.0 inches) compared to the factory vehicle. To accommodate the lowered stance and wider footprint, the concept features seamlessly widened wheel arches housing 21-inch HRE wheels with bronze centres, Y-shaped spokes and polished metallic rims. The wheels are wrapped in 295-section Toyo Proxes ST III tires, delivering roughly 20 percent more contact patch than the standard model.
Design of the Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Performance Concept
Visually, the GT-S treatment turns the wagon-like utility vehicle into a far more assertive machine. Coated in a custom dark anthracite grey metallic paint with extra clear coat, the concept receives an aggressive front fascia with blacked-out grille elements and a prominent front lip spoiler. Red accents trim the hood edge, side mirrors, and exterior badging.
Additional exterior touches include vented front fenders, a subtle side skirt package, a rear diffuser and dual trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Upgraded braking
To match the increased cornering grip, the Toyota Motorsports Garage upgraded the braking system by installing front and rear calipers borrowed from the 366-HP Lexus RX 500h F Sport.
Interior of the Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Performance Concept
Inside, the cabin receives subtle sport upgrades. The well-bolstered front bucket seats feature custom red trim and embroidered "GT-S" lettering on the headrests, while the compact gear selector is wrapped in red leather with "GTS" badging.
Powertrain of the Toyota Crown Signia GT-S Performance Concept
Under the hood, the factory hybrid powertrain remains unchanged, the model retaining the production Crown Signia’s standard 2.5L 4-cylinder hybrid setup producing 238 hp, though it does gain a custom GT-S engine cover.
Strictly a concept
As with the Snowhunters, Toyota says the Crown Signia GT-S is strictly a concept and not a precursor of an upcoming production variant. But the build highlights the tuning potential of the brand's premium hybrid wagon platform for enthusiasts looking for more road presence and handling agility.
