Toyota Tundra Pricing Announced

By ,

This might just be globalization at its finest. The new Toyota Tundra is a hard working Japanese pickup truck conceived and built in the USA for its North American customers. Apparently one of the lead designers is a Japanese man who was raised in Texas and loves playing country music on his guitar. Toyota yesterday announced pricing for the new model, which was just introduced for 2008. "We are very excited about the new Toyota Tundra, which was designed and built in North America for North Americans," said Tony Wearing, Managing Director at Toyota. MSRP on a basic DLX 4.7L two-wheel drive model is just $25,255. With a large number of variants available, including several body styles, two or four wheel drive and two engines, there will be a Tundra appropriate for any job. The optional new 5.7 litre V8 engine is a monster- with output approaching 400 horsepower. That engine, fitted to a Limited model 4x4 with the monstrous CrewMax four-door body, will run buyers some $51,995. The new Tundra goes on sale nationwide next week.
