XM Satellite radio has just announced that the 2009 Toyota Corolla and Matrix will be the first Toyota vehicles to offer XM as a factory installed feature. Standard on all models with the high-end JBL premium audio system, XM NavTraffic will also be installed to models fitted with navigation. XM NavTraffic monitors local traffic conditions and can re-route drivers around potential traffic-related slowdowns.
"The availability of XM as a factory-installed feature on these two models is an important milestone," said Steve Cook, Vice President of Automotive at XM Satellite Radio. "The combination of XM Radio and XM NavTraffic will deliver an outstanding entertainment and driver information package for Corolla and Matrix buyers."Jon Bucci, corporate manager of advanced technology for Toyota Motor Sales, says "XM provides exceptional entertainment programming and innovative data services. The new Toyota models fitted with XM come with a free three-month subscription.
