Maserati… a prestige brand with uneven prestige
A fe years ago Ferrari became a separate entity under the umbrella of the FCA Group. The group’s other brands, meanwhile, work more closely together, which is why you find a lot of cross-pollination of components. This is the case with Maserati, which for the most part offers its clients the same uninspiring steering wheel found in the… Dodge Grand Caravan.
The $100,000 Ghibli is one of those models. In fact, several of the buttons and knobs in this pretty Italian sedan can be spotted in a bargain-priced Dodge or Chrysler. This is simply not acceptable, especially for a car of this stature. We all know how easy it is to fall for the charms of Italian automotive design, especially when serenaded by the musical sounds coming from under hood. But a buyer sizing up the Ghibli will conclude there are just too many compromises to make!
