Porsche has just released photos of their new four-seat Panamera grand touring car, which will join the Boxster, Cayenne, Cayman and 911 models next year. The German performance automaker says that the model combines sporting driving dynamics, a spacious interior, and the supreme comfort of a Gran Turismo.
Photos showcase a wide track, short overhangs and a new interpretation of the family DNA- complete with a raised hood, LED running lights and fender vents. At 1,931 mm wide and 1,418 mm high, it's both wider and lower than most comparable four-door models. In all, it's a unique look, and one the brand's fans are likely to appreciate. They're likely to appreciate what's under the hood too. Though official specifications aren't yet available, it's known that the Panamera will come with between 300 and 500 horsepower, and that some powertrain options will utilize turbocharging and direct injection for optimized economy and huge power. Power will flow to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, or the brands new PDK seven-speed double-clutch gearbox. Engines will be front-mounted and of the 'V' configuration. All wheel drive and a hybrid model will be available as well, though official details won't be available till spring. Porsche hopes to sell about 20,000 Panamera models each year.
