Virginia: Hanna wins, NASCAR has to postpone its races until Sunday

By ,

Hurricane Hanna started dumping its waters upon the Richmond International Raceway Friday afternoon and it was expected to continue on Saturday. Consequently, NASCAR decided that all its activities had to be postponed until Sunday (as the weather forecast seems pretty good). The NASCAR Sprint Cup race, the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, will thus be run at 1:00 pm with Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) starting first and Canadian Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) 39th (according to owner's points per NASCAR rules). The NASCAR Nationwide race, the Emerson Radio 250, will follow later in the afternoon as Joey Logano will be the first on the starting grid thanks to the No 20 Camry he will be driving. Canadians Andrew Ranger (Dodge No 22) and D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81) will be starting respectively 22nd and 26th according to their car's position within the owner's points.
