Visual and powertrain upgrades for updated Boxster S and Cayman S limited editions

Porsche is offering customers additional excitement with a limited run of special vehicles for 2009. A list of enhancements will set the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and Porsche Cayman S Sport models apart- including more powerful engines and unique styling cues. Just 500 of the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and 700 of the Cayman S Sport models will be built- though the U.S. will receive less than 50 of the special Boxster models, and about 100 of the special Caymans. The models will be available through authorized U.S. Porsche dealers, carrying MSRP's of $66,900 and $69,900, respectively. Each will feature a glove-box number plaque.
Porsche Cayman S Sport
The Cayman S Sport's appearance is intended to call the 911 GT3 RS to mind, offering the same exterior colors and special cues like black rims, mirrors and intake grilles. A special model designation graphic is applied to the side of the vehicle, which rides a lowered suspension and wider track thanks to wheel spacers. The Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 features a stunning Carrara White paint job with white finishes on its 19-inch wheels, intakes, console and instruments. The interior is trimmed with black leather upholstery, and the convertible roof is stone grey in color. A matching men's wristwatch is included.A mild bump in output sees each model capable of 303 horsepower from a 3.4 litre engines. Both go on sale this fall. photo: Porsche
